About Pat's Opinionated View: For the past several years, Pat Park has written a weekly book review column in The Gazette entitled "Park's View". After careful consideration, she realized it was time to move to a wider audience through the internet and air her opinions on other interests as well as provide a much-needed online home for the arts in Centre County.
Every Wednesday Pat will bring you a book review. The other days of the week may bring all sorts of surprises. You may see theater reviews, local events, casino round-ups -- anything Pat has an opinion on. If you know Pat, you know she can be very opinionated! Look for guest columnists as well!!

About Pat: Pat Park has a B.A. in secondary education (English) from Bloomsburg College and did her post-graduate coursework (English, Theater) at Lock Haven University. She was an English teacher at Bald Eagle Area High School, taught home-bound students and was a substitute teacher in other Centre County school districts. After retiring from teaching she bought her own business in downtown Bellefonte and served as the first woman president of the Downtown Business Association.
After closing her doors in 1989, she has worked retail since, selling men's clothing, furniture, and (her personal favorite, of course) books. Now that she has finally decided to retire FOR GOOD (ha!), she spends her time volunteering, reading, writing reviews and casino traveling.
